Eric & Teresa

This is it.  This was the shoot I had been looking forward to for quite some time.  We had some scheduling issues, so the anticipation was killing me.  Most of you have heard me talk about Teresa—my childhood/lifelong cousin-friend-neighbor.  You’ve probably even seen photos I’ve taken of her cute baby boys (who are not-so-much babies anymore).  So obviously I was super excited when I was able to do a shoot for her and her husband, Eric.  They celebrated their 5th anniversary this past June, and as many of you may know, the way you look when you get your engagement pictures and the way you look 5 years later can change so much—you don’t always feel like you’re the same people. It was definitely time for new photos of this dashing couple.   And they came ready to work it.  And oh my, did they!

This was my first official shoot that I stylized from beginning to end.  I loved it.  I’m headed in a direction where all my shoots will follow suit.  I started by thinking about Eric & Teresa as a couple, and then finding some spots that would maybe mean something to them but still work well for the shoot.  Once we found the spots, I talked with Teresa about outfit, hair and make-up ideas for each location.  We talked through what clothes they had, and she gave me some options to work with, and I ultimately chose their finally digs.  In this instance, I actually assisted with Teresa’s hair and make-up, but normally I will offer a hair and make-up artist as an option.  Working with Teresa to put together a complete and cohesive look made the whole shoot flow so nicely.  Seriously… just look at what we got.

Love this.

The first place was an ally in our neighborhood.  They take family walks to a local market just a few houses away from this place.  Very reminiscent of an everyday feel for them.

Oh, and then they showed me how they can work it.

Then we ventured downtown to another ally.  This one was nearby some great places we sometimes go to with them for dinner and drinks.  Though they don’t always dress to the nines when we go out, I wanted to try to glam it up a bit. I thought they could make it happen.

And they did not disappoint.

I kind of begged for this next one, and I have no regrets.  Seriously, Tere.  Seriously.

Love.

Thanks friends.  I love you guys and loved getting these shots!
